ABOUT THE ARTIST
Some of the best things that happen, happen by chance.
From small beginnings as a hobby back in 2002 I have gone on to creating unique mosaic pieces for clients as well as running workshops for other budding mosaic artists.
My mosaic journey began with creating traditional mosaics using stained glass and incorporating geometric relationships, colour explorations, and images from everyday life as inspiration.
When creating mosaics I make use of a wide variety of material and surfaces from the traditional dishes, bowls to seashells and buttons. Each piece is meticulously handcut to achieve the perfect look.
The challenge of creating mosaics on different surfaces has led to indoor and outdoor tables, flower stands, mirrors, murals and birdbaths.
You can visit my online gallery to view my art.
Unique to my work is the development of a new concept in mosaics, molage art. Molage is a two dimensional form of mosaics, using leadlight glass on acrylic painted and textured canvas.
Workshops are held in my home studio weekdays with holiday workshops during the summer.
Visit the student gallery shows just some of the wonderful pieces that have been made.
